Geoid Map Products ================== This directory contains IMG and JP2 containing maps of coefficients that indicate a measure of surface roughness. The IMG maps are in the form of a binary table with one row for each 1/8 th or 1/16 th degree of latitude, pixel registered. The various products provided are described in further detail in the accompanying detached PDS labels with the corresponding file names. A summary of the products is given here. The Hurst exponent represents the slope of the best-fit line to a plot of log(v(dx)) vs. log(dx), where v(dx) is the RMS deviation and dx is the baseline (the deviogram). HE_8 is a global cylindrical projection map of the Lunar Hurst exponent at a resolution of 8 pixels per degree. The MAS products are global cylindrically projected maps of the Median Absolute (unsigned) Slope in the along track direction. Three products are provided for baselines of 57m, 225m, and 560m, with values then interpolated to a 16 pixels per degree grid. Details on the derivation and application of these quantities is elaborated upon in [ROSENBURGETAL2011]. As with all the products in the EXTRAS directory, these files are made available, but are unsupported by the LOLA Science Team.
